Customer Reviews B. Lambuth Said: Okay but not very practical. ( Sep. 15th 2009 )It dose exactly what the label says. Works fine. The major downside is that it is also a pain in the butt to use. I will say that it works as a excellent input device for pc and it comes with some pretty neat software.Stan Wayne Said: Software does not integrate well ( Aug. 29th 2009 )This is a well made product, but the software is a bit clumsy and does not integrate well. The first set of drivers caused it too crash Microsoft Word. The second drivers worked okay. The software was clumsy. When writing on a document, you could only write on what appeared on your computer screen. You had to then save the writing to the document before you could move down the page. It made it too slow to quickly move through a document in a meeting or other situation. The PDF document writing did not work well at all. After you marked on the screen, you had to save the writing as in Word, but when it saved, it ended up in a different place on the document. It was a significant shift. If you just want to take notes and transfer them to the computer, I would recommend it. But if you want to do on the fly mark up during a meeting or other situation, I think a full tablet PC might be a better choice. That is where I am not looking.Chris O Said: Horrible Documentation ( Jul. 12th 2008 )I purchased this tablet because I develop e-learning and I wanted to have the option to include handwritten annotations, examples etc., into my courses. I got as far as installing the software and I could see that the tablet 'recorded' my sample note, but I can't figure out how to get it out of the tablet. The documentation is absolutely horrible and believe me, I should know since I develop training for a living! There are 3 books that you have to surf through to get answers to your questions, which simply aren't there. The product itself seems to be fine, it's just figuring out how to use it... I am disappointed, but will have to return it. No point in keeping it, if I can't get it to work.DelusionalAngel Said: It's not a Wacom, but... ( Apr. 27th 2008 )I think people tend to lose sight of something when reviewing this tablet and others like it, it's not meant for professional artists. It's not supposed to be compared to a normal tablet like a Wacom. We have a Wacom in our house, I don't use it (it's for the professional here), but I do use this one. I've use it both for drawing while at my computer and while away from it. I prefer it as a normal tablet. But it's also good as a digital sketchpad of sorts, so long as you keep the paper in place while using it in that way. However, if you're ditzy like me, I suggest you remember to triple check to be sure you've switched the pen from the ink tip to the plastic one before going back to using it as a normal tablet, I won't mention how many times I came dangerously close to drawing, with ink, on the tablet itself. If you review it for what it is and don't compare it to tablets that are purely tablets then it's fine. I give it 4 stars for what it is. It loses one for two reasons -- 1. The set up software isn't really intuitive and the manuals were frankly a mess 2. The pen took one fall onto a carpeted floor and cracked nearly in half. Yeah, I shouldn't have dropped it, but it happens and it cracking that badly that easily is bad. I did just tape it together, and ordered a new one, so it wasn't a huge deal. But, I will compare this one aspect of it to our other tablet and say its pen has been knocked onto a hardwood floor several times by a psycho kitty who likes to try to steal things, and that pen has never cracked even a bit. If you want a tablet you can take with you anywhere and can't afford a tablet PC, this is fine. If you just want a tablet and don't care about portability or the extra feature of being able to draw/write on paper while having it also store digitally, go with a regular tablet like a Wacom.S. D. Starr Said: Not Worth The Time or Effort or Price Tag of $149.00+ ( Dec. 26th 2007 )The My Notebook Premium is not well made nor does it have any other redeming qualities. The manuals are very non specific and are not related to the exact product so you have no idea what to download. When you do, the software is not anything to "write" home (or anyone else about) - it was not easy to understand - not for me at least. The pen stopped working right away and overall I would trash this entire thing before keeping it. I am returning it tomorrow!« Back |
